Canada Makes Its Mark
Canada will debut at the World Cup after a spectacular showing at the first-ever CONCACAF Women’s Futsal Championship in Guatemala earlier this year. Led by goalkeeper Léa Palacio and forward Esther Brossard, Canada defeated Mexico in a dramatic penalty shootout and routed Panama 8-2 in the final to secure their continental title. Head coach Alexandre Da Rocha has named a 14-player squad blending experience and youth, including 12 returning players from the CONCACAF campaign. Canada opens its Group B campaign against Colombia on November 22, before facing Thailand and Spain.

Morocco Aims to Impress
African champions Morocco are drawn in Group A with host nation Philippines, Argentina, and Poland. The team enters the tournament with confidence, hoping to showcase its growing futsal program on the world stage.

Portugal’s Ambitions
Portugal enters the tournament with high expectations, led by star pivot Janice Silva. Silva, known for her mobility and scoring ability, cites her teammates Ana Catarina and Fifo as key strengths. Portugal is drawn into Group C alongside Japan, New Zealand, and Tanzania, and Silva emphasizes taking the tournament game by game while respecting each opponent.

Philippines Prepares for Home Glory
The host nation has been preparing intensively, including a training camp in Spain with friendly matches against top Spanish clubs and the national team. The Philippines aims to leverage home advantage and inspire a generation of futsal players, with the PhilSports Arena serving as the tournament’s centerpiece.

Tournament Format
The 16 teams are split into four groups of four. The top two teams from each group advance to the knockout stage, leading to semi-finals, a third-place playoff, and the final. The event promises thrilling action and a historic milestone for women’s futsal globally.
