Apple is developing several future versions of its Apple Watch models with cameras, a move aimed at strengthening the Apple Watch's position as an AI-powered wearable.

Equipping the watch with cameras will help it "see the outside world," according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, a technology analyst.

These AI efforts will be complemented by Apple's existing Visual Intelligence technology, which the company also intends to implement in its AirPods.

Apple's Visual Intelligence currently relies heavily on Google and its ChatGPT chatbot, but the company intends to shift to its own AI models in the future.

Apple offers the Visual Intelligence feature with the current iPhone 16 series, but the company plans to make it available on other devices in the future.

As for Apple Watch models with cameras, Apple is working on implementing them in both the Ultra and standard models.

In the standard Apple Watch, the camera will be embedded in the display, similar to the iPhone. It is not yet clear whether this will rely on under-display camera technology or whether it will require a notch in the screen for the camera hole.

In the Ultra model, the company plans to integrate the camera on the side of the watch, next to the Digital Crown and the side button. Apple will likely do this in the Ultra Watch, as there is more space on the watch to accommodate the camera.

With this addition, Ultra Watch users will be able to more easily point their wrists at objects they want to access using "visual intelligence."

Apple Watches with these cameras won't be ready until at least 2027, along with camera-enabled AirPods.

All of this depends on the success of Apple's AI teams in organizing things, and the team has recently undergone management changes.

Thank you !
