🎾 LEYLAH FERNANDEZ MARCHES INTO THE TOKYO FINAL! 🇨🇦🔥
Unseeded Leylah Fernandez has officially locked in her spot in the championship final of the WTA 500 Toray Pan Pacific Open after a hard-fought 7-5, 6-3 victory over lucky loser Kamilla Rakhimova!
The unseeded Canadian's third WTA final of 2026 proves she's playing some of the most resilient tennis of her career during a spectacular Asian swing.
💪 How the Match Was Won:
Rakhimova came out firing with early breaks in both sets, but world No. 23 Fernandez showed immense mental fortitude — firing 9 aces and converting 4 of 6 break points to wrap it up in 1h54.
Revenge is sweet! Rakhimova had beaten her 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 in Beijing earlier this month.
🏆 Up Next: vs 3rd-seeded Diana Shnaider in Sunday's final! Shnaider beat 18yo Mia Pohankova 6-4, 7-6(7).
