Elena Rybakina vs. Leylah Fernandez | 2026 Ningbo Final | WTA Match Highlights

🏆 WORLD NO. 1 ELENA RYBAKINA DEFENDS HER NINGBO CROWN! 🏆

Elena Rybakina has done it again! In a clinical hard-court performance, the World No. 1 defeated Canada's Leylah Fernandez 6-2, 6-2 to successfully defend her Ningbo Open title! 🇨🇳✨

This marks a massive milestone for Rybakina—it’s her first-ever successful title defense on the WTA Tour, extending her perfect lifetime record at the tournament to 8-0. 🎾🔥

Here is how the championship match broke down:

🔹 Commanding the Court: After dropping to a brief 1-2 deficit in the first set, Rybakina flipped the switch, reeling off five straight games to take the opener. She wrapped up the entire match in just 1 hour and 16 minutes.
🔹 Unbreakable Serve: Rybakina's signature serve was firing on all cylinders, saving 100% of the break points she faced (4/4) while converting 4 out of her 5 break opportunities against the Canadian.
🔹 Season of Dominance: This is Rybakina’s tour-leading 4th title of a spectacular 2026 season (adding to her Australian Open, U.S. Open, and Stuttgart trophies). The win brings her closer to mathematically locking down the year-end World No. 1 ranking over rival Aryna Sabalenka.

Huge credit to Leylah Fernandez, who put together an incredible run during the Asian swing! 🇨🇦 Coming off a recent title in Singapore, Fernandez battled through a grueling week of three-set thrillers against elite competition to reach the final.

Both players are headed straight to Japan for the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo, where the draw says they could meet again in the quarter-finals! After that, Rybakina heads to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the year-end WTA Finals starting November 8. ✈️🇯🇵🇸🇦
